Watching American Idol while experimenting with Twitter
Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at 3:01PM Yesterday, for the first time ever, I watched a show live, meaning with all the commercial breaks, and was using Twitter. Took me a while to even give Twitter a chance, since in its simplicity it is so similar to Fotolog and I felt like betraying my "baby" when using other services.
No need for such feelings. While "Twitter is a platform, Fotolog is a destination" and I am quoting our CTO here! I like this quote and I think he's right. Fotolog, despite being easy to use, offers an experience that's meant to last. Whereas Twitter is very much on the spur of the moment, not unlike facebook! What you babble in both of them is not meant for the eternity, or is it?
As for my experiment with tweeting about American Idol's Season 8 Show No 9 installment, iTunes catalog, I can say it was fun. I had a blast actually and gained 5 new followers, people who are interested in what I am tweeting about. (Are you guys really? Interested in what I am saying? Or are you much like myself looking for more followers, hoping that I will follow you back as it is courtesy on Twitter?!)
Tonight however, I'll give the online consumption a rest and will fully indulge in what Ryan Seacrest or Simon Cowell have to say and will get lost in Adam Lambert's smile and voice (check out Adam_Lambert on Twitter!). I also predict that Scott McIntyre will go home but Megan Joy, one of the few remaining girls will be safe for one more week. And as special treat, there will be an appearance of last year's Idol: David Cook
