Discover NEW Music (1): Passion Pit "Manners"
Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 2:52PM That's my chance to chat about an album that's brand new and which didn't get all the media hype treatment yet. From all I know by now, Passion Pit originate from Boston and are basically the brain child of Michael Angelakos a "songwriter songwriter" but does this describe the music at all? So let's focus on that!
Make LIght, Passion Pit's first full album, released May 19th 2009 impresses with happy sound. Lots of keyboards, cool drums, high pitched voices (wonder where my appreciation for that all in a sudden comes from...), lots of playful fun upbeat pop melodies. Nothing wrong with pop, I love well made original pop!
Passion Pit plays The Bowery Ballroom on June 19th and 20th 2009.
Recommended for:
Those dark days when you're in need for something really uplifting. For those sunny days when you couldn't stand anything but upbeat music.
My Favorite song on this album:
After having listened to the album only twice, probably "Make Light" and "The Reeling"
