Up in the Air - almost the best movie of 2009

Yesterday Elke and I went to the movies (the second time in two weeks!) for "Up in the Air". The reviews were mostly stellar and I really like the overall story as I like travelling, flying and hanging out in hotels. And it is a good movie, no doubt. Two thirds through it I thought I need to revise my 2009 favorite movie title.

But then came the end, which spoiled the film for a good part. Without giving too much away: Jason Reitman cheated. For the sake of the story, his characters acted in a way, which was inconsistent with how they acted for most of the movie. Apparently it didn't bother many reviewers. I did bother me.
